About our union
We are the United Steelworkers Local 1511, the Union of Pitt Faculty.
We were certified by the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board in October 2021, and we ratified our first contract in May 2024. We represent full-time and part-time faculty at all schools and campuses of the University of Pittsburgh, excluding faculty in the School of Medicine, department chairs and other faculty in certain managerial positions, and part-time faculty in their first term working at Pitt.
