COMMUNICATION & ACTION TEAM (CAT) UPDATE
April 17, 2023
Takeaways:
Dear colleagues,
We hope to see many of you tomorrow (April 18) at our solidarity action at the final bargaining session of the semester. We will meet at 9:45 AM outside of the Schenley Dr. entrance to Posvar. Our bargaining committee will continue working hard to negotiate a fair contract for us over the summer, but their power comes from all of us. We need to show the administration’s bargaining team that we are invested in getting a fair contract that includes fair pay and that we stand behind our bargaining committee.
If you have not RSVPd for the action yet, please do so now.

- Visit a table, talk to a Communication and Action Team (CAT) member, or complete this form to request a conversation about signing a membership card. This isn’t your only opportunity to sign a card, but it doesn’t hurt to sign up now.
- Join the CAT to help communicate with faculty members and collect membership cards in your area.

Sign a membership card!
We will continue collecting membership cards on the Oakland campus this week. Here is where you can find us:
Today, April 17- 10 AM-1 PM Clapp Hall (by the Fifth Ave. entrance)
Wednesday, April 19- 11 AM-2 PM Posvar Lobby (by the Schenley Dr. entrance)
This is certainly not your only opportunity to sign a card. We will continue collecting cards indefinitely. But there are many faculty to talk to and we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to get their questions answered about membership and sign a card before it is time to vote on our first contract. We won’t start paying dues until our first contract is ratified so there is no harm in signing up now. Hundreds of faculty have already done so!
Is it difficult for you to get to Oakland? We will come to you! Reach out to a CAT member or complete this form with your contact information and availability and someone will be in touch to set up a time and place to meet.
We would love to have your help with this effort. Do you know two or three faculty members you could ask to sign a card? Join our team to learn how to collect membership cards in your area.
We are sure that you have questions and we are happy to answer them. Stop by a table, reach out to a CAT member, or come to our action tomorrow to ask questions, get answers, sign a card, and build power!
In Solidarity,
Your Communication and Action Team (CAT)
