COMMUNICATION & ACTION TEAM (CAT) UPDATE
May 26, 2023
Takeaways:
Dear colleagues,
Faculty members from across the university are signing their Union membership cards! They are signing cards in their homes, on campus, and in coffee shops. Members from every school and campus have joined our Union. They are part-time instructors, librarians, Falk school teachers, visiting professors, assistant professors, associate professors, and full professors.
They are signing because they want a voice in determining the contract that will govern their working conditions; because they know that the more members we have, the more powerful we are; and because they understand that our Union needs financial resources in order to function.
If you have not signed a card within the last few months, you are not a member of our union yet. Now is the perfect time to sign! We won’t start paying dues until we ratify our first contract.
Here is where you can find us on the Oakland campus next week:
Tuesday, May 30- 2-6 PM Cathedral Lobby (1st floor)
As always, we are happy to come to you. Simply request a conversation and let us know the best way to contact you.
This is an exciting time for our Union. We hope that you will join us!
In Solidarity,
Your Communication and Action Team (CAT)
