Dear colleagues,
With the Fall semester lurching towards us it’s time for our first membership meeting! Hosted at USW International Headquarters, this meeting will be a fantastic opportunity to receive updates directly from our bargaining committee and communication action team, to get your questions answered, and to meet your fellow Union members. A Zoom option will also be available for members who cannot attend in-person. Got a burning question? Bring it to the meeting! Concerned about something that’s important to your work life but haven’t seen an update about it yet? We’d love to hear it! The meeting will be held on Thursday,August 10th, from 6:30-8 PM and will be open to Union members only.
Haven’t had a chance to sign a membership card yet? Come visit us at one of our tabling events or request a conversation! We’ll be out and about in Pittsburgh and Bradford this week and would love to answer your questions and help you get signed up for our Union. Being part of the bargaining unit does not automatically make you a member of our Union and only members will be able to attend meetings and vote on the contract we negotiate. Dues will not be collected until the contract is ratified, so there’s no time like the present!
Here is where you can find us this week:
We really enjoy meeting with our colleagues and chatting about all things Pitt Faculty Union, so please drop by! If you’re unable to come to a tabling event you can always email us with questions or concerns; either by replying directly to this email or reaching us at [email protected].
In Solidarity,
Your Communication and Action Team (CAT)
