- This week marks your last chance to sign a membership card before our membership meeting from 6:30-8 PM on August 10, in-person at the USW International Headquarters (60 Blvd of the Allies) and on Zoom. You must be a member to attend. This meeting will include time for questions for our bargaining committee and strategizing how we can lock in good raises in our first contract. RSVP here.
- You can sign a card at a membership table on August 7 from 10 AM-2 PM at the Cathedral of Learning (first floor), August 7 from 10 AM-12 PM at Adda in Shadyside, and August 9 from 4-6 PM at Biddle’s Escape.
- If you are attending the membership meeting in person you can sign a card before the meeting begins. Please arrive by 6 PM if you plan to do this.
- As always, you can find answers to frequently asked questions about membership and request to speak to a Communication and Action Team (CAT) member about signing a card on our website.

It’s August, and you opened this email. You are dedicated! Join us, either in person at the USW International HQ (60 Blvd of the Allies) or on Zoom, at our first ever membership meeting. This meeting will be held next Thursday, August 10 from 6:30-8 PM. This is your chance to get updates on bargaining, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We would love to see you in-person if possible. Parking downtown is free and readily available near the USW building after 6 PM. However, we also understand that having a Zoom option makes the meeting more accessible to many of our members, particularly those at our regional campuses. Please RSVP here so that we can send you the Zoom link if you plan on attending.
To attend the meeting you must join our Union by signing a membership card. Haven’t signed a card yet? Not planning to be on campus before the meeting? No worries! We’ve got a table near you.
These tables are staffed by friendly, volunteer Pitt faculty. Come out and meet a like-minded colleague. You can also learn more about membership and request to sign a card on our website.If you can’t make it to a table or meet with a CAT member before our membership meeting, you can sign a card at the USW International HQ before our meeting begins. Please arrive by 6 PM if you would like to do this so that we can make sure that we have time to sign you up before the meeting begins.
We’ve seen the salary increases Pitt is giving to our colleagues outside of our bargaining unit. Now it’s our turn. As we head into negotiating our salary increases, it’s worth noting that the greater the percentage of faculty joining our Union, the more power we will have at the bargaining table. Want a good raise? Simply by joining our Union, you can contribute to making that happen.
